My Story
Hi, I’m Paul and this site supports my new record shop in the heart of Penzance.
This is my debut solo project and I’ve named it, Far Land Records.
My love for music runs deep. From being raised on classic rock by three cool uncles, buying my first records in Plymouth’s Pannier market, watching bands at the Coliseum and forging a personal journey across genres, collecting music has been a lifelong obsession.
Now, after thirty years of dreaming, Far Land Records is born—a testament to the enduring power of musical discovery.
I want Far Land Records to be more than just a shop; it's where music enthusiasts can uncover hidden gems on all physical formats, delve into captivating books, and surround themselves with music memorabilia. I have scoured high and low to present you with a treasure trove of musical wonders.

Careful Curation and Quality Assurance
Caring for your purchase, vintage LP records are machine cleaned, tested, and graded, and stored in polythene outer sleeves for protection at no extra cost.
Endless Selection Assurance
If I don't have something in stock whether it is vinyl, CD, or cassette, I'll find it for you or reserve you a copy before it's released.
Your Musical Treasure Hunter
If it’s a vintage record that you’ve been searching for, I will trawl my network to find you a copy.
Eco-conscious Practices
Vinyl shrink wrap is a massive environmental problem and we care deeply about this. To support plastic-free PZ, I can 'de-shrink' in-house and dispose for you.
Fair Pricing Philosophy
My prices will always be a fair reflection of what I've paid. I'm here to create the best range of products for the local customer.
Crowd-Sourced Music Discovery
Get involved - you know your favourite records best. If you’ve got a favourite record, and you think others should hear about it write a review and I'll print it off and stick it on the album so other customers can get tuned-in.
Community-Centered Experience
I want the shop to be part of the community.
New vintage collections or rare collectables will be held in-shop for two weeks before being offered to online sales. This ensures local diggers have an opportunity to expand their collections first.
Supporting Local Talent
New music is important.
